Everbuild Firemate Intumescent Sealant

Everbuild Firemate is a four-hour rated, one-part, emulsion acrylic-based intumescent sealant for sealing joints in fire-rated structures. The product provides a firm yet flexible seal in ambient conditions, but when exposed to temperatures in excess of 125°C, it expands (intumesces) to fill and seal the joint, preventing the passage of fire, smoke and combustion gases for up to 4 hours in suitably designed joints. Suitable for sealing service penetrations, construction joints, junctions between fire-rated walls and floors, and around pipes, cables and ductwork passing through fire compartment walls.

Good to know

• Use only in joints that have been specifically designed and tested for fire resistance, consult the technical datasheet and a fire engineer for joint design guidance
  
• Do not use as a substitute for intumescent pipe collars or fire sleeves on large pipe penetrations
  
• Joint design must comply with Approved Document B (Fire Safety) requirements
  
• Maximum joint width and depth per technical datasheet — do not overfill joints
  
• Clean uncured sealant with water; cured material must be removed mechanically
  
• Store in a frost-free location
